AusAID Philippines NGO Evaluation

Aid-IT Solutions completes evaluation of AusAID's Philippines ANCP program

Aid-IT Solutions' senior M&E consultant, Dr Paul Crawford, was the team leader of the April 2008 Philippines Cluster Evaluation for AusAID.

Australian NGOs involved in the evaluation were:

  • Anglican Board of Mission (ABM)
  • CBM (formerly Christian Blind Mission)
  • Reledev
  • Salvation Army Australia Development Office (SAADO)

Philippines partners involved in the evaluations were:

  • Episcopal Church of the Philippines (ECP)
  • NORFIL Inc.
  • Foundation for Professional Training Inc. (FPTI)
  • The Propeller Club of Manila

Amongst the twelve recommendation made to stakeholders were the following:

  • ANGOs should explore practical measures to facilitate synergies and partnership between in-country partners
  • ANGOs should aim beyond AusAID’s minimalist documentary requirements in articulating project designs
  • ACFID should consider researching and compiling examples/case studies of good practice M&E for demonstration purposes to supplement M&E training provided to the ANGO sector
  • AusAID should engage with the ANGO sector to conduct the first of the planned ‘meta evaluations’ to synthesise trends and key issues that have arisen from this and other cluster evaluations
